mine is a site-specific project undertaken during an Arctic Circle Expedition artist-residency (2017). This project took place in the Arctic while aboard the Antiga.
The effects of climate change have led to the increased melting of Arctic ice, and with the depleting ice, expanded shipping routes and emerging access to natural resources. The related economic potentials have led to increased claims of sovereignty by nations around the world.

The act of branding was a process shared collectively by an international group of artists, writings, and educations participating in the Arctic Circle Expedition.
